StreamFlix: a clean, light library of popular and top-rated movies and TV shows, from Interstellar to Project Hail Mary
In the spring of 2023, StreamFlix was a quiet, elegant page for browsing films. A white sidebar held a large round logo, a short Discover menu with Popular, Top Rated and Grossing, a switch between Movies and TV Shows, and a long column of genres from Action to Western. The main area showed a huge uppercase title, Popular, and a grid of big rounded posters with soft shadows, with a Load more button at the bottom. StreamFlix today keeps that calm, light design and adds what matters most: every movie and show opens on the official services in your country through one Watch now button.
This guide first walks through the page: the sidebar, the genre pills, the search pill, the poster grid and the title pages. Then it explores the lists: Popular, Top Rated and Most Watched, the classics, the 2010s and the newest releases, every genre, the great franchises and the TV shows. It ends with the practical side, from subtitles and dubbed audio to devices, picture quality, free viewing, My List and safe streaming. For the short version, read how to watch on StreamFlix.
The StreamFlix design
The 2023 StreamFlix defined its whole look in a handful of custom properties, a palette of Material blue-greys. The darkest, #263238, is used for page titles and active links. The primary, #37474F, colours the search pill and the detail panel under a poster. A softer #546E7A is used for genre links, a pale #B0BEC5 for secondary text on dark panels, and a light #FAFAFA for text on the dark shapes. Borders are a translucent blue-grey, and shadows are soft. Everything is set in Montserrat, a geometric sans-serif that suits the large uppercase titles.
The result is a page that feels more like a well-designed app than a website: generous white space, a clear hierarchy and posters that are allowed to shine. StreamFlix today keeps those measurements, from the 25rem sidebar to the rounded poster corners and the pill-shaped links.
The search pill
At the top right of every page floats the search pill, a dark blue-grey capsule with a soft shadow, just like the original. Type a title and matching posters appear as you type; press Enter for the full search page with filters for type, genre, year, language and score. Search understands original titles as well as English ones, so a French or Japanese title finds its film too.
The big titles
Every list page on StreamFlix opens the way the original did: a small uppercase label, such as movies or tv shows, above a very large uppercase title in thin letters, such as POPULAR or TOP RATED. It is a confident, magazine-like touch that tells you at once where you are. On the home page, a short heading and a line of introduction follow, then the poster grid begins.
The poster grid
Posters are the stars of StreamFlix. They sit in a flexible grid that fits as many columns as the screen allows, each poster with gently rounded corners and a soft shadow that lifts it off the white page. Below each poster, the title and a line with a small row of stars, the score and the year are centred in blue-grey.
Point at a poster and it rises slightly, its shadow disappears, its lower corners square off and the title panel below fills with the dark primary blue-grey, turning the text white. It is the same hover effect the 2023 site used, and it makes browsing feel tactile and quick. At the end of each list, a rounded Load more button leads to the full shelf.
The home page
The home page opens with twenty of the most popular movies right now, then three more lists: Top Rated movies, Popular TV shows and the Most Watched films of all time, each with its own label and big title. Below them, every genre and list appears as a row of pills with its number of titles, and a set of help cards leads to the guides. A visit might open with Project Hail Mary, Sinners and Superman in the first row.
A title page
Each title page opens with the backdrop and poster, the title, year, running time, genres and score, then the story, the director and the cast. The Watch now panel lets you choose your country, and Add to My List sits beside it. TV show pages list every season and episode with dates and summaries, and a row of related titles closes each page, so Dune leads naturally to Dune: Part Two and Blade Runner 2049.
Popular
Popular is the heart of StreamFlix, the first list in the sidebar and the one that opens the home page. It shows the movies with the most attention right now on TMDB, so it changes with the seasons. In late 2026 it is full of new releases like Project Hail Mary, Michael and Avatar: Fire and Ash, alongside films that keep finding new viewers, such as Interstellar, Oppenheimer and The Wild Robot.
Top Rated
The Top Rated list gathers the titles scoring eight or more from at least five thousand TMDB voters. The Shawshank Redemption sits near the top, as it does on almost every list of great films, joined by The Dark Knight, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club and Interstellar. The animated films hold their own too, with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Coco, and series such as Better Call Saul and Peaky Blinders share the list. The Top Rated guide picks highlights, and the full list is at Top rated.
Lists that stay fresh
Because Popular follows what people are watching on TMDB, the home page changes quietly week by week, while Top Rated and Most Watched move more slowly, shaped by years of votes. New releases slip into Popular soon after they arrive on the services, and a much-loved classic can climb back up whenever a sequel or anniversary sends viewers back to it. It is worth checking the home page from time to time: something new is almost always waiting in the first row.
Using the Discover menu
The Discover menu is the quickest way to find something to watch, and each of its three lists answers a different question. Popular answers what everyone is watching right now. Top Rated answers what audiences have loved most over the years. Most Watched answers which films almost everyone has seen, a great way to fill gaps in your own film education. Together they cover the new, the best and the essential.
Below Discover, the Switch group takes you between Movies and TV Shows, each sorted by popularity, and the genre pills narrow everything down by mood. The Discover guide sums it up, with examples from each list. On a phone, the same links sit in the menu behind the round button at the top of the page.
StreamFlix on a phone
On a narrow screen, StreamFlix turns into a simple one-column app. The sidebar folds away, a small version of the round logo sits at the top left, and a round blue-grey menu button opens every link. The poster grid drops to two posters per row, still with their rounded corners and soft shadows, and the big uppercase titles shrink to fit. Tap a poster and its detail panel darkens before the title page opens, just as it does with a mouse.
Most Watched
The 2023 sidebar had a Grossing list for the biggest box-office earners. StreamFlix today offers Most Watched in its place: the films with the largest audiences on TMDB, measured by the number of people who have rated them. The two lists overlap a great deal, since the biggest hits are usually the most seen. Interstellar, Inception, The Avengers and The Dark Knight lead it, followed by Avatar, Avengers: Infinity War, Fight Club and The Shawshank Redemption. Titanic, Jurassic World, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Finding Nemo show how many generations these films have reached. Open Most watched.
New and recent
The New and recent shelf gathers the films of 2023 onward, and it is where the newest releases appear. The 2026 highlights include Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling as a teacher who wakes up alone on a spacecraft, and Michael, the story of Michael Jackson. The 2025 films include Sinners, Superman, Weapons, One Battle After Another, The Fantastic 4: First Steps, Thunderbolts*, F1, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, 28 Years Later and the animated sensation KPop Demon Hunters.
From 2023 and 2024 come Oppenheimer, Barbie, Dune: Part Two, Killers of the Flower Moon, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Inside Out 2, The Wild Robot and Alien: Romulus. The New and recent page explains how films reach the streaming services, and the shelf is at New and recent.
The 2010s
The 2010s shelf covers a decade of big, memorable films. Christopher Nolan made Inception and Interstellar, George Miller made Mad Max: Fury Road, and Quentin Tarantino made Django Unchained. Marvel built its universe from Iron Man 2 and The Avengers to Avengers: Age of Ultron, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Pixar gave us Inside Out and Coco, Disney its The Lion King remake, and Illumination Despicable Me. Star Wars: The Force Awakens reopened the galaxy, and Furious 7 became one of the most emotional action films ever made. Open The 2010s.
Classics
The Classics shelf reaches from the 1990s to 2009. The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club and The Matrix are the landmarks of the nineties, along with Titanic, Toy Story and the original The Lion King. The 2000s bring Gladiator, all three Lord of the Rings films, the Harry Potter series from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man, Iron Man, Finding Nemo, WALL·E and James Cameron's Avatar. Open Classics.
The box-office giants
The original StreamFlix had a Grossing list, and many of the biggest earners in cinema history are on the site. James Cameron's Avatar remains the highest-grossing film ever made, with Avengers: Endgame close behind and Avatar: The Way of Water and Titanic, also Cameron's, among the top few. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World, the 2019 The Lion King, The Avengers, Furious 7, Frozen II and Inside Out 2 all earned well over a billion dollars around the world.
What these films share is spectacle and broad appeal: stories that families, friends and fans of every age went to see together, often more than once. Many of them look their best in 4K on a big screen at home, and most are easy to find on the major services through Watch now.
International favourites
Although StreamFlix leans towards Hollywood, a few international films have earned their place through sheer popularity. Hayao Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle is one of the most loved animated films ever made, a story of a young woman cursed into old age and a wizard with a walking castle. Its hand-drawn beauty stands proudly beside the Pixar and DreamWorks films on the Animation shelf, and it is a perfect first step into Studio Ghibli's world.
Films based on true stories
Several of the most powerful films on StreamFlix are rooted in real events. Oppenheimer follows the physicist behind the atomic bomb, The Imitation Game follows Alan Turing's codebreakers at Bletchley Park, Killers of the Flower Moon recounts the murders of Osage people in 1920s Oklahoma, Michael tells the story of Michael Jackson, and Titanic sets its fictional romance aboard the real ship. F1 draws on the real world of Formula One, filmed at actual Grand Prix weekends.
The genre shelves
Genres are the second pillar of the StreamFlix sidebar, and every one has its own shelf. Action is one of the biggest, with Top Gun: Maverick, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Batman, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and Gladiator, plus shows like Reacher and The Walking Dead. Adventure takes in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Avatar: The Way of Water, Jurassic World and the Pirates of the Caribbean.
Animation ranges from Toy Story and Finding Nemo to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Wild Robot, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Howl's Moving Castle. Comedy brings Barbie, Knives Out, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, A Minecraft Movie and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Crime has Pulp Fiction, The Dark Knight, Joker, Killers of the Flower Moon and Better Call Saul.
Drama is the widest, from The Shawshank Redemption and The Imitation Game to Oppenheimer and One Battle After Another. Family gathers Coco, Inside Out 2, Frozen II, Moana 2 and How to Train Your Dragon. Fantasy covers the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings sagas and shows like The Witcher. Science fiction has Interstellar, Dune, The Matrix, Blade Runner 2049 and Project Hail Mary, and Thriller and mystery has Weapons, Knives Out, Fall and FROM. The genres page lists them all.
The great franchises
StreamFlix is full of long-running series that make perfect marathons. The Marvel run starts with Iron Man and Iron Man 2, builds through The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and continues with Black Widow, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic 4: First Steps.
The Harry Potter films run from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone through Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Middle-earth has The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Pandora has Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash, Arrakis has Dune and Dune: Part Two, and Pixar's toys have Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 4. The Fast saga runs from Furious 7 to Fast X, and the dinosaurs from Jurassic World to Jurassic World Dominion.
Spider-Man through the years
Spider-Man has one of the richest shelves on the site. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man launched the modern superhero film in 2002, Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and the multiverse adventure that followed brought Peter Parker into the Avengers era, and Sony's animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse reinvented what a comic-book film could look like. Venom: The Last Dance completes Spider-Man's corner of the universe.
Pixar and Disney animation
StreamFlix has a strong animation shelf, led by Pixar. Toy Story was the first fully computer-animated feature in 1995, and its sequels Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 4 kept the magic alive. Finding Nemo followed a nervous clownfish across the ocean, WALL·E told a nearly wordless love story between two robots, Inside Out and Inside Out 2 took us inside a young girl's mind, and Coco celebrated Mexico's Day of the Dead with music and heart.
Disney adds The Lion King and its photorealistic remake, Frozen II and Moana 2, and DreamWorks brings Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, How to Train Your Dragon and The Wild Robot, one of the most moving animated films of recent years. From Japan, Studio Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle brings Hayao Miyazaki's magic, and Sony's Spider-Verse films complete one of the richest animation collections anywhere. Open Animation.
Middle-earth and Hogwarts
Two sagas deserve their own mention. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, was filmed back to back in New Zealand and remains the benchmark for fantasy on film. The series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns to Middle-earth thousands of years earlier.
The Harry Potter films follow Harry, Ron and Hermione through seven years at Hogwarts, growing darker and richer as the young cast grows up. StreamFlix has six of them, from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Both sagas are perfect for a long weekend, with snacks and a comfortable sofa.
TV shows
The 2023 site marked its TV Shows switch as unstable; StreamFlix today gives TV shows a full home, with more than forty series and every season and episode listed. The TV shows guide gives a short tour.
The dramas are superb. Better Call Saul traces Jimmy McGill's slow transformation into Saul Goodman, Peaky Blinders follows the Shelby family through post-war Birmingham, True Detective and Fargo tell a new crime story each season, and Yellowstone follows the Dutton family's fight for their ranch. Homeland follows a CIA officer on the trail of a turned soldier, and The Blacklist pairs a master criminal with a young FBI profiler.
For other worlds, Stranger Things made Hawkins famous, The Expanse builds a future split between Earth, Mars and the Belt, Silo imagines a community living underground, FROM traps travellers in a strange town, and The Witcher, Vikings and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cover fantasy and history. The Walking Dead ran for eleven seasons of survival, and The 100 sent young people back to a changed Earth.
The superheroes are here too: Loki, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel's The Punisher, Gotham, and the connected Arrowverse of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Superman & Lois. For lighter viewing, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Ted Lasso and Young Sheldon are warm and funny, and The Rookie, 9-1-1, Chicago P.D. and The Good Doctor are comfortable long-running procedurals. Open TV Shows.
Directors worth following
Some names promise a great evening. Christopher Nolan made The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar and Oppenheimer. Denis Villeneuve made Blade Runner 2049, Dune and Dune: Part Two. Quentin Tarantino made Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. James Cameron made Titanic and all three Avatar films, Peter Jackson made the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Ridley Scott made Gladiator and Gladiator II. Ryan Coogler made Black Panther and Sinners, and David Fincher made Fight Club.
Stars on StreamFlix
Leonardo DiCaprio leads Titanic, Inception, Django Unchained, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, Killers of the Flower Moon and One Battle After Another. Matthew McConaughey anchors Interstellar and the first season of True Detective. Tom Cruise flies in Top Gun: Maverick and runs through Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, and Keanu Reeves is Neo in The Matrix and John Wick in John Wick: Chapter 4. Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya lead the Dune films, and Ryan Gosling leads Barbie, Blade Runner 2049 and Project Hail Mary.
Oscar winners
Many titles on StreamFlix are Oscar winners. Titanic and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King each won eleven Oscars, and Gladiator, Oppenheimer and Everything Everywhere All at Once won Best Picture. Joker won Joaquin Phoenix Best Actor, and Interstellar, Inception, Mad Max: Fury Road and Dune were celebrated for their craft. In animation, Finding Nemo, WALL·E, Toy Story 4, Inside Out, Coco and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse all won Best Animated Feature.
The Arrowverse in order
The CW's superhero series share one connected world, and watching them in order is part of the fun. Start with Arrow, which introduced Oliver Queen in 2012, and add The Flash from 2014, when Barry Allen first appeared as a guest. Supergirl joined in 2015 and crossed over the following year, DC's Legends of Tomorrow gathered a team of time travellers from both shows, and Superman & Lois followed the Kents to Smallville. The big annual crossover events tie them all together, and the season pages on StreamFlix list every episode with its air date, so you can follow the story across the shows.
Long-running favourites
Some series are best enjoyed a few episodes at a time over months. The Rookie follows the oldest new officer in the Los Angeles police, 9-1-1 follows first responders from the call to the rescue, Chicago P.D. follows a tough intelligence unit, and The Good Doctor follows a brilliant young surgeon. Lucifer sends the devil to help the police, Scorpion builds a team of geniuses, and Grimm turns fairy tales into cases. With episode marks in My List, it is easy to keep track of where you are.
Teen and young adult series
For younger viewers and fans of big mysteries, Riverdale reimagines the Archie comics as a dark small-town thriller, Pretty Little Liars follows four friends and a mysterious messenger, Teen Wolf mixes high school with the supernatural, and Once Upon a Time sends fairy-tale characters to a town in Maine. The 100 and Stranger Things are gripping for teenagers and adults alike.
Science fiction on TV
Television has become a home for ambitious science fiction. The Expanse is praised for its realistic physics and politics, following a crew caught in a conflict between Earth, Mars and the outer planets. Silo imagines the last humans living in a vast underground tower, with a mystery about the world outside at its heart. FROM traps a group of strangers in a town where nightfall brings danger, and Stranger Things blends science fiction with eighties nostalgia and friendship. The 100 follows young survivors returning to Earth generations after a nuclear war. All of them list every season and episode on StreamFlix, with dates and summaries to keep track of the twists.
How Watch now works
Every title page on StreamFlix has a Watch now panel with a country list: the United States first, then France, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, the Philippines, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and Brazil. Choose yours and press Watch now; StreamFlix opens the title's JustWatch page for that country.
JustWatch groups the options into subscription, rental, purchase and free. Pick one and the title opens in that service's own app or website. StreamFlix remembers your country, so the next title opens straight to the right list.
Where the titles stream
Most titles on StreamFlix stream on the big subscription services. Disney+ carries Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars, Netflix carries Stranger Things, KPop Demon Hunters and many series, HBO Max carries the Warner Bros and DC films, including The Dark Knight, Dune and the Harry Potter series, and Prime Video carries Reacher and many rental titles. Apple TV, Paramount+ and Peacock carry others, depending on the country.
In France, Canal+ plays a big role, often carrying new films a few months after their cinema release, and Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and HBO Max are all available. New films arrive first for rent or purchase on Apple TV, Google TV and Prime Video. The where the titles stream page gives an overview.
Subtitles and dubbed audio
Every major service offers subtitles in several languages, switched on from the speech-bubble icon in the player. Most films also come with dubbed audio, and French viewers will find a French version, often called VF, for almost every title, alongside the original version with subtitles, known as VOST. The same is true in Spanish, German, Italian and Portuguese on the services in those countries. Closed captions describe sounds as well as speech, and audio description narrates the action for blind and partially sighted viewers. The subtitles page has more.
Phones, tablets and TVs
StreamFlix runs in any modern browser. On an Android phone, open the Chrome menu and choose Add to Home screen; on an iPhone, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen. The round StreamFlix icon appears with your other apps and opens the site full-screen. The name StreamFlix has also been used by an Android app; this site is a web library, and the films themselves play in the official apps of each service, installed from Google Play or the App Store.
On the television, those apps run on Fire TV, Google TV, Apple TV, Roku, PlayStation, Xbox and most smart TVs, and French viewers can also use the boxes of their internet provider. Chromecast and AirPlay send the picture from your phone to the big screen. The apps and devices page covers each one.
HD, 4K and sound
The official services stream in HD as standard, mostly 1080p, and many films stream in 4K with HDR and Dolby Atmos. Dune: Part Two, Avatar: The Way of Water, Top Gun: Maverick, Oppenheimer and Interstellar are showcase titles for a good home setup. Around five megabits per second is enough for smooth HD and around twenty-five for 4K. Set each service's quality to High or Auto, and try your TV's Filmmaker or Cinema mode for natural colour. The video quality page explains the settings.
Free and legal viewing
Plenty of films stream free and legally with adverts. Pluto TV, Tubi, The Roku Channel and Plex carry large libraries in many countries, and in France the free replay services of the main channels show films and series after broadcast. When a title on StreamFlix has a free option in your country, it appears in the Watch now list beside the paid ones. Trial periods are another route to a short series like True Detective. The free movies page keeps a list.
A better picture at home
A few small changes make a big difference. Keep your router in an open spot near the television, or connect the TV with a network cable. Pause big downloads on other devices during a film, and restart the router now and then. If voices sound quiet, many services offer a dialogue-boost or night mode that lifts speech above the music, which helps with dense films like Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two.
Downloads for travel
Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max and several other services let you download films and episodes inside their apps on phones and tablets. Download at home over Wi-Fi before a flight or a long train ride, and the film plays in airplane mode from inside the app. Downloads expire after a set time, so start them a day or two before you travel.
Watching as a household
Most services let each person have a profile, so recommendations and progress stay separate, and kids profiles show titles suited to younger viewers. For a shared evening, StreamFlix's Family shelf is a good place to start, with Coco, Inside Out 2, Frozen II, Moana 2 and The Wild Robot, and older children will love Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Casting to the big screen
When you find a film on your phone and want it on the television, casting is the quickest bridge. Open the title in the service's app, tap the cast icon, a small screen with waves in the corner, and choose your Chromecast, Google TV or smart TV. On an iPhone or iPad, AirPlay sends the picture to an Apple TV or a compatible television. Your phone then works as a remote, and the film plays in full quality on the big screen, ready for the whole room to enjoy.
My List
My List is the StreamFlix watchlist. Press Add to My List on any title page and it is saved in your browser, private to you. Open My List from the sidebar to see everything you saved and remove titles once you have watched them. For TV shows, mark the episode you reached on each season page and StreamFlix remembers your place, handy for long runs like The Blacklist, The Walking Dead or The Good Doctor. Export saves your list to a small file and Import restores it on another device. The My List page explains more.
Search and A-Z
The search pill shows matching posters as you type. Press Enter for the full search page with filters for type, genre, year, language and score, and a sort menu for popularity, year, score or title. Every filter is saved in the page address, so a favourite search can be bookmarked. The A-Z list shows every title alphabetically, and finding a title collects every route.
Choosing what to watch
A few questions make choosing easier. Do you want something new or something proven? Popular leans towards the new, while Top Rated and Most Watched lean towards the classics that have won over millions. Movie or series? The Switch links in the sidebar take you straight to one or the other. What mood? The genre pills cover everything from gentle family films to tense thrillers.
The stars and score under each poster are a useful hint: four stars or more, a score of eight or above, marks a title that a large audience loved. The year helps too, whether you fancy a nineties classic like The Matrix or something fresh like Sinners.
Ideas for a movie night
For a Nolan double bill, pair Inception with Interstellar. For a family evening, try Coco and The Wild Robot. For a marathon, the three Lord of the Rings films make a legendary Saturday, and the Dune films a spectacular Sunday. For action, Mad Max: Fury Road followed by John Wick: Chapter 4 is pure adrenaline, and for something smart and fun, Knives Out followed by Everything Everywhere All at Once always delivers.
Films worth a second look
Some films reward a rewatch. Inception and Interstellar reveal new layers each time, Fight Club plays very differently once you know its twist, and Knives Out is full of clues hidden in plain sight. Pulp Fiction's looping timeline makes more sense the second time, and Everything Everywhere All at Once hides jokes in the corners of every universe.
Recognising StreamFlix
StreamFlix has a clear look: a white page, a sidebar with a round blue-grey logo, small uppercase labels and pill-shaped links, very large thin uppercase page titles, a dark search pill with a soft shadow and a grid of big rounded posters. Bookmark the home page and add it to your phone's home screen. The official site page gives the details, and the site status page helps when a page loads slowly.
Reading the stars
The five small stars under each poster turn the TMDB score out of ten into a quick picture: a score of eight fills four stars, rounded to the nearest whole star. The exact score and the year sit beside the stars. The title page also shows the number of votes, and a score built on tens of thousands of votes, like that of Interstellar or The Dark Knight, is very steady, while a brand-new film may move as more viewers rate it. Use the stars as a guide and let your own taste make the final call.
Films for every season
Some films suit the time of year. Winter evenings are made for the long sagas, from Middle-earth to Hogwarts, and for cosy animation like Frozen II. Spring is a good time to catch up on the awards films, such as Oppenheimer or Everything Everywhere All at Once. Summer belongs to blockbusters, Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World or Avatar: The Way of Water, and autumn to thrillers and chills, like Weapons, Knives Out or a season of Stranger Things.
Binge plans for series
TV shows reward a plan. A season of True Detective runs to about eight episodes, perfect for a long weekend, and each season stands alone, so you can start with any of them. Stranger Things has five seasons that build to a big finale, a good project for a few weeks. Better Call Saul and Peaky Blinders each run to six seasons of rich, slow-burning drama, ideal for a month of evenings. For something to dip in and out of, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Young Sheldon work in any order.
Christopher Nolan on StreamFlix
Christopher Nolan has more films on StreamFlix than almost any other director, and together they show his fascination with time, memory and scale. The Dark Knight turned a superhero film into a crime epic, with Heath Ledger's legendary Joker. Inception sent a team of thieves into layered dreams, Interstellar sent astronauts through a wormhole in search of a new home for humanity, and Oppenheimer followed the scientist behind the atomic bomb in a film that won seven Oscars. Watching them in order is a masterclass in big-screen storytelling.
Watching Marvel in order
Marvel's films reward watching in release order, which follows the story of the Infinity Stones. Start with Iron Man, continue with Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, then Avengers: Age of Ultron, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, with Captain Marvel slotted in before Avengers: Endgame. Afterwards, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 carry the story forward, and Loki continues it on television.
Safe streaming
Install apps only from Google Play, the App Store or your TV's store, keep your devices updated, and use a different strong password for each service with two-step sign-in switched on. Before you pay or sign in, check that the address bar shows the service's real name. StreamFlix sends you to JustWatch, and JustWatch sends you on to the official services, so every step stays trustworthy. The safety page has a checklist.
Privacy
StreamFlix keeps your data in your own browser. My List, your episode marks and your chosen country stay on your device, ready to clear at any time or move with Export and Import. Posters, stories, cast and episodes come from TMDB, the community film and TV database, and the viewing options come from JustWatch.
How the catalogue is chosen
The catalogue follows the original's Discover lists. It brings together the most popular films of recent years, the highest-rated and most-watched films of all time, a selection of international classics and the TV shows with the biggest audiences, all chosen from TMDB and checked by hand. Every title comes with a poster, a story and a score, and TV shows come with their seasons and episodes.
A short history of StreamFlix
StreamFlix appeared around 2023 at streamflix.one as a simple, elegant way to browse films from TMDB, with Popular, Top Rated and Grossing lists, a Movies and TV Shows switch and a long list of genres, and a note inviting fans of dark mode to try a sister site. The name has since been used elsewhere, including by an Android streaming app and a Portuguese-language site. StreamFlix today keeps the light 2023 design and turns it into a guide to the official services, in HD, with subtitles and dubbed audio, on every device.
A first visit
On a first visit, scroll through the Popular grid and point at a few posters to see their titles and ratings. Open one that catches your eye, read the story and press Watch now to see where it plays. Try the Top Rated list and a genre pill or two, add a few titles to My List, and save StreamFlix to your home screen. In a few minutes, your watchlist for the week is ready.
